It amazes me that hardly anybody here even gives that possibility a thought.
I am a parent of a former player and far from a Shockernet regular. I dont log in often, but I feel like I have kept in the loop with this forum for about 4 yrs now (longer than your 1+ tenure at WSU). I'd never voiced my opinion until the most recent round of players announced their departure. Nope... i didn't even offer a single word of rebellion when my own child announced her transfer and was accused of not being tough enough. Actually, we left the program quietly, intently focused on recovering from the time spent and moving on to a better place for the remainder of her career.
For those of you that suspect a Witch Hunt is conspiring here, dig deeper. Quite opposite of your conspiracy theory, our fondness of WSU still remains... we keep in touch and support this program, as well as other sports at WSU. I cannot speak for others, but MY agenda has never been to get any one individual fired or to tank the program. My first post came when I saw other players (who have contributed immensely and PROVED their toughness) being dragged through the similar circumstances. I know you have only been working with the womens program for just over a year now, so I will chalk up your comment to lack of history. But as a responsible adult, when I see a pattern of disfuntional behavior and mistreatment continuing to repeat with players during a very formative and vulnerable time in life, that is when I as a parent (in general) feel somewhat obligated to voice concern.
I have never had a personal agenda or called for any firings. as I have voiced in previous posts, my simple suggestion would be an INDEPENDENT and unbiased investigation, incorporating current players, past players, transfers, past staff and current staff. That is the ONLY way that this issue can be brought to light and subsequently resolved. When there is nothing to hide and no hidden agenda, you welcome and encourage this type of investigation. Quite simply, it is the RIGHT THING to do!
I'm sorry for wanting what is "RIGHT" for the current, future and past players. If that makes me an overzealous parent... then so be it. The accusations made here are not new. Players and parents have attempted to voice their concerns through "the proper channels" in the past, with no resolve. Each year, another round of transfers with the same reasons for leaving... and another round of recruits with dreams in hand are sent to sacrifice. This "Overzealous Parent" is not gaining anything here, its actually very draining to relive those times... but I will do my part to support those going through it now, and in hopes of preventing another from being exposed.

I think they would be the most credible sources of what the program is like. Kelsey with five years and the only player in her recruiting class to stay at WSU and Alex our greatest player ever. I suspect they have just moved on and will be successful wherever they go. No matter how we look at this; it is a black eye on the university to receive this kind of negative publicity. Time will tell; and as I have said many times, this program is not for the feint of heart.

Regardless of what comes out of this, I am not a fan of Jody and never will be. I refuse to support her in any way and I for one, will be glad when she is no longer at wsu. I feel the same way about one ADES as well. The athletic department in general at wsu seems to have turned into a huge joke since Schaus left. Just my opinion of course, but nothing good will ever come out of this situation

Anybody that doesn't believe there is something going on here is either clueless, ignorant, or connected at the hip to Jody, Becky, and/or ADES. If it was just 1 or 2 complaints, I could understand. But there is just way, way too much to be ignored. It would be interesting to know what the real VOTS, Mike Kennedy thinks about all this. Of course, by the same token, anybody affiliated with WSU probably can't have much say in the matter for fear of losing their job.
Sadly, like with most things, we will probably never know the honest, 100% truth. In my mind, there's just way too much to overlook

I believe what most of "us" are saying (although I am just speaking for myself) is that there is an awful lot of smoke. Too many players with too many incidents, whose parents are also involved. It also seems that if a player said something happened and a coach says it didn't, the player is considered a liar. That doesn't seem correct either. And the door swings both ways regarding the probability of details that most people don't know about.
I don't necessarily disagree with anything you said. So I guess we will again see what evidence there is and go from there.

Facilities continue to improve, almost across the board fan support has never been stronger. The department is in the black. Championships are pouring in. Student athletes are leaving more prepared for the real world than in the past (my opinion based on personal knowledge).
You also commented, I believe, that Head Coach Todd Butler rubs you the wrong way and that you'll never support him. As someone smarter than I said, that says a heck of a lot more about you than it does about Coach Butler.
Thankfully, the direction of the athletic department isn't steered for the enjoyment or to impress @shockerfanmas:. God only knows what hell hole we'd be in if it was.

wow....glad to see your priorities put the student-athlete first. I believe the "real" world has laws and policies on the job that has to be followed. Can't remember the last time my boss held me against the wall and then his boss made me apologize and then made me say it never happened. Then when I quit my job tell everyone I was fired so no one would question what was going on. Then show no record of me even working there. I don't even think that happens in the "real" world.
Would be very nice to have an independent investigation....the number of players and two starters leaves too many questions. Something is just not right......
